If You Are About Freedom and Liberty You Care When Rights Are Taken Away or Obstructed

If You Are About Freedom and Liberty You Care When Rights Are Taken Away or Obstructed

There was a time when the Teaparty was all about fiscal responsibility and personal freedom. Truly they were.  I believe quite sadly that this has changed, but I would love to be proven wrong. I challenge each individual Republican or Teaparty Republican that happens upon this site to stand up for the precious right to vote of every American. In order to do that you would have to make a concerted effort to learn about what is happening right now, this minute in states where restrictive poll  ID laws have been passed by Republican governors. If you are truly about freedom and liberty you will.  See Allegations of Voter Fraud from the Brennan Institute for Justice

Prepare to be nauseated if you truly believe in freedom and liberty. See the stories of real people especially seniors whose right to vote is being obstructed here:  http://www.lawyerscommittee.org/page?id=0046.  (Like Virginia Lassiter, 91, from TN  whose right to vote is threatened by Republican ID laws and dozens more. )

See how Republican strategists admit that these laws are meant to keep the ever rising Latino vote suppressed: "I sat in on many meetings where it was discussed how to make sure what happened in 2008, when Obama brought out the college-aged voters, the minority voters, never happened again" said Jim Greer.  (Voter Suppression Series Part II: Florida  http://www.huffingtonpost.com/ryan-campbell/voter-suppression-in-florida_b_1840793.html ) Is that freedom and liberty and should anyone win an election by stripping others of the right to vote in a democracy?

“I want the people in the State of Florida to want to vote as bad as that person in Africa who is willing to walk 200 miles for that opportunity he’s never had before in his life,” said GOP State Senator Michael Bennett. “This should not be easy.” What? Feeling the freedom and liberty? Guess what? It’s not easy. Is that how anyone should win an election by deliberately making it harder to vote and even harder to register to vote? http://www.thenation.com/blog/170261/recent-history-gop-voter-suppression-florida#

”Florida's disgraced former GOP chairman says the party had meetings about "keeping blacks from voting" Is that why we have these restrictive polling ID laws that the Teaparty defends so much?  Also, Rick Scott is under investigation for purging voters that happen to be 87% Black. http://www.salon.com/2012/07/27/fla_republican_we_suppressed_black_votes/

Just Google “voter suppression 2012” on UTube and you will come up with many, many reports that you won’t see on Fox Noise. Whether its laws that obstruct voting or election fraud Republicans, the freedom and liberty party, continue to do both http://www.huffingtonpost.com/charles-a-santangelo/voter-supression_b_1875627.html

Its not showing an ID that is the issue, its the type of restrictive polling ID that is the problem. I happen to agree that only people that have the right to vote should. Furthermore I have no problem with showing an ID of some sort at a polling place. However, the restrictive polls ID laws are not about proving one has the right to vote, if the ID required deliberately keeps people from voting. Republican governors who gained Republican majorities in their State legislatures have enacted laws that insure obstructing, if not prohibiting the right to vote for persons most likely to vote for Democrats.

It does not matter who is in power when an election is stolen. Voter fraud must be crushed in order to have a truly representative government, but so should election fraud and voter suppression, which is equally, if not more heinous. Ask any person from the Teaparty or any Republican and they will vehemently deny that these laws obstruct the right to vote.  Do they care to know?  You think they would want to since they are all about freedom and liberty. Many are unaware because it’s not something you will hear on Fox Noise or on right wing radio or read on right wing websites. Is freedom and liberty important only if Democrats are taking away your liberties?  I don’t care where tyranny comes from and if it’s my party I will fight it even harder. You can't just talk the talk of freedom and liberty. You have to walk the walk.

A party that wants to win an election by taking away the most precious right from the opposition does not deserve to govern and does not have my vote. It's shameful and the Teaparty that I knew, that started under Bush, would never stand for such a thing. I pray every day that it finds it way back and speaks up against election fraud and suppression.

God Bless

Jeanette

PS I am not a writer but I don't have to be to speak out and speak up. I have said it before and will say it again: from forced vaginal ultrasounds, huge government right between a woman’s legs interfering with her private choices  to plan a family including contraception,  to the right to vote and the right to habeas corpus, sharia islamophobes,  birthers, truthers, racists and especially the religious right,  have ruined the Teaparty and any semblance of good fiscal policy, reducing the debt,  small government and personal liberty that it once stood for. The rest of us can't run away from it fast enough.

Before you say oh that liberal media, did it ever occur to you, that this is a strategy to keep you from knowing what you should know? You can't choose to be informed of that which simply feeds your side of any given issue. To be informed, truly informed, you must consume news that does not simply appeal to you. I am a Fox Noise survivor and the Foxification of my brain. Its why I can truly fight for freedom and liberty and see a threat regardless where it comes from. When I hear Republicans and the Teaparty say that voter suppression and election fraud is not a problem simply because Democrats and "liberal media" report it, I am sickened. We are divided and conquered.
